4 Tools to Clean your Sluggish PC

4 Tools to Clean your Sluggish PC

How to make a slow computer work faster

Have you recently had a virus on your computer? Or is your computer running slowly? It is incredibly frustrating to have an operating system that is not running at its best.

Rest assured, you can clean most infections and optimize your computer on your own with a few portable software tools and a USB drive. After you download the software to a USB drive from a clean, working computer, you can run the programs from the USB drive and use the tools to clean the infected or slow-running computer.

The benefit is that you can run these programs in instances when a virus or malware blocks antivirus software installed on the infected computer. Here four tools to help you clean and optimize your PC:

How to make a slow computer work faster

1. CCleaner Portable – this software is a free tool to optimize and clean your PC. The program removes unused files such as files downloaded while you browse websites, allowing your system to run faster. The software also clears your internet history and includes a registry cleaner.

2. IObit Uninstaller Portable – In most cases, the default uninstall tool on your computer works fine, but occasionally a program leaves files behind or won't uninstall at all. IObit Uninstaller is a tool to remove unwanted programs and their leftovers.

3. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware – Malwarebytes has excellent scan and detection capabilities to remove infections from your computer, and is a staple in tech repair.

4. ClamWin Portable – ClamWin is a free and open-source antivirus with an available portable version. It does not include a real-time scanner (which is included in standard anti-virus software), but it works for the purpose of cleaning an infected computer.

I suggest you keep a USB drive ready in case you need it, and periodically update the software. Looking for other software resources? CNET's Download.com is an excellent resource for safe software downloads and reviews.
