Expense tracking apps for your farm office

When it comes to reconciling your business accounts or even worse, preparing for taxes, you realize how important it is to track your expenses. It is equally as important to analyze those expenses to plan for future costs. If you are still working toward your goal of a paperless office,here are five apps and tips that can help you track and manage your receipts, expenses and travel costs:

Expensify – Expensify allows you to import and manage expenses from your corporate credit card, scan receipts with automatic information input, categorizes your expenses, offers options for expense approval and accounting compliance, track mileage and log time. The mobile application is available on iOS and Android platforms. Pricing varies by plan, but is available for as little as $5 per user, per month.

QuickBooks Mobile – Are you a QuickBooks users? Did you know that a mobile app for Apple and Android-enabled devices is available at no cost with your subscription? Not only does this service allow you to track receipts and expenses, but it gives you access to many of the important tools you use QuickBooks for, including estimates, invoices, accessing customer information, receiving payments, reconciling transactions and much more! Depending upon your business size and if you opt for a long-term subscription, QuickBooks Online is available for as little as $5 per month.

OneReceipt – This software allows you to sign up for e-receipts and track paper receipts, storing them on a cloud-based server. You can also synchronize the data with other services and financial institutions like Mint.com, American Express, Chase, CitiCards and Bank of America. OneReceipt is available as an iPhone app and is currently free.

American Express ReceiptMatch – If your business is an American Express OPEN cardholder, you can enroll in ReceiptMatch to upload receipts and make notes of your transactions. The service also allows you to manage employee-spending accounts, set alerts and view statements.

Cloud Storage – You can also utilize your cloud storage program app like OneCloud, Dropbox or Google Drive to upload your receipts to synchronize with your computers for safekeeping.
