China Buys Soybeans, Mexico Buys Corn and Soymeal

USDA reports China soybean purchase is new crop, Mexico corn buy mostly new crop

Private exporters reported China bought 360,000 metric tons of 2014/2015 soybeans and Mexico bought 269,084 metric tons of corn and 134,700 metric tons of 2014/2015 soybean cake and meal, USDA said on Friday.

The corn sale to Mexico includes 23,368 tons for delivery during the 2013/2014 marketing year and the balance during the 2014/2015 marketing year.

USDA's latest weekly export report showed Mexico is the current leading buyer of U.S. 2014/2015 corn and China is the leading buyer of both 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 soybeans.

The marketing year for corn and soybeans begins Sept. 1 and soybean cake and meal begins Oct. 1.
