China's soy purchase is for 2014-15 crop year, USDA says

Private exporters reported that China bought 118,000 metric tons of U.S. soybeans for delivery during the 2014/2015 marketing year and unknown destinations bought 126,000, with 60,000 for 2013/2014 and the rest for 2014/2015, USDA said on Thursday.

The marketing year for soybeans begins Sept. 1.

USDA issues both daily and weekly export sales reports to the public.  Exporters are required to report to USDA any export sales activity of 100,000 tons or more of one commodity, made in one day or quantities totaling 200,000 tons or more in any reporting period.
