Farm Futures staff earned national recognition at two awards programs this summer.
Senior Editor Bob Burgdorfer won first in the American Agricultural Editors’ Association economics and management category for his “Tough times, tough decisions” feature in the May-June 2015 issue. This is the second consecutive year Burgdorfer has won that category.
Design Director Lisa Lynd captured second place for commercial cover design for the November 2015 issue, “How low can you grow?”
Executive Editor Mike Wilson took first in the humorous category for his column, “The doctor will see you now” in April 2016. Wilson won second in two categories: for editorial with "A better job defending animal agriculture" and for issues with “A legal battle to farm,” both running in the July-August 2015 magazine.
Wilson’s column, “Your customers are wrong. Live with it,” in the December 2015 issue, earned third in the regular column category.
Farm Futures earned five awards this year in Graphic Design USA’s American Inhouse Design competition. This year’s entries topped 6,000; the top 15% were recognized with an awards certificate.
