Kubota launches new M5 series

New utility tractor series offers two models and plenty of versatility

Kubota Tractor Corporation is rolling out the M5 Series in time for the fall farm shows. The series offers two models - the M50091 and the M5-111. Both machines are available in two- and four-wheel-drive.

The series offers the Ultra Grand Cab II with expanded space, more visibility and an ergonomically designed control panel. Both models are performance matched with a variety of Kubota's new hay tools and other implements. That suits these machines to work on cattle and dairy operations, large properties and in the hay field.

Two new utility tractor models join the Kubota line - the M5-091 and the M5-111. Both offer versatility to work on a range of chores around the farm.

In a media release introducing the new machines, Tyler Pittson, product manager, compact and utility tractors, notes: "We know our customers typically use this horsepower range for hay production and other hard-working chores on the farm or ranch, so we designed Kubota's M5 Series to be spacious, comfortable and versatile to help tackle the tasks at hand."

The Ultra Grand Cab II offers an air-conditioned ride along with a sunroof and retractable shade. The cab is six inches larger than previous models, and the tilt steering wheel angle has been increased. The economy PTO change lever has also been relocated inside the cab on the right-hand side for easier use. There's also a high-backed bucket seat for increased comfort.

The cab is available on both new M5 models.

The M5-091 features a 76 PTO hp engine, while the M5-111 is powered by an 89 PTO hp engine. Both are four-cylinder turbocharged models and use Kubota's diesel particulate filter with selective catalytic reduction tech to meet Final Tier 4 emission standards. For the first time, both the DPF and SCR are located inside the hood for added visibility around the tractor.

The M5-Series offers multiple transmission speeds, providing operators the flexibility to choose the best solution for their job. Transmissions are available in 8-, 12- and 24-speed options and an economy PTO is standard on the 12- and 24-speed transmissions. A hydraulic shuttle provides smooth-shifting between forward and reverse by use of a single lever, eliminating the need to engage the clutch to change directions. The hydraulic shuttle lever boosts productivity in any job that requires repetitive forward and reverse movements, such as front loader work.

From the popular, versatile front loader to a variety of mowers, tillers and hay tools, the M5-Series is performance-matched with a variety of implements and attachments – truly making it a tool of many trades. Both the M5-091 and the M5-111 are equipped with a Category II 3-point hitch which allows for fast and simple attachment and detachment of rear implements. A floating lift rod comes standard for a smoother ride and enhanced traction while using the 3-point hitch. Kubota’s new M5-Series utility tractors will be available at authorized Kubota dealers nationwide starting in August 2015.
