Mexico, Unknown Destinations Buy 2014/2015 U.S. Corn

Two sales total 237,600 metric tons, USDA reports

Private exporters reported the sale 107,600 metric tons of 2014/2015 corn to Mexico and the sale of 130,000 tons to unknown destinations, USDA said on Wednesday.

The 2014/2015 marketing year for corn begins Sept. 1.

As of last week, Mexico was the leading buyer of 2014/2015 corn with 2.34 million metric tons. It is the No. 2 buyer of 2013/2014 corn, behind Japan, with 9.45 million. Year-to-date sales of 2014/2015 corn to unknown destinations totaled 2.235 million metric tons, according to USDA's weekly report..

The latest sale was reported under USDA's daily export sales reporting system.   Exporters are required to report to USDA any export sales activity of 100,000 tons or more of one commodity made in one day by the next business day.
