More Winter Weather

Another winter storm set to cross the country.

For the last several weekends, much of the United States has been hit by storms that brought snow, sleet and ice. And according to U.S. Department of Agriculture meteorologist Brad Rippey, the last weekend of 2007 won't be any different.

"We do have one more major weather system to get out of our system," Rippey says.

The storm will move through the central plains into the Northeast bringing a wide strip of snow, freezing rain and ice, while heavy rains will be dropped on much of the South.

"So we'll be looking at the 29th and 30th some pretty significant snow and rain across the central and eastern part of the country," Rippey says. However, he expects the first part of January to be rather calm and dry.
