More Winter Weather on the Way

Weather causes problems, but also provides relief.

Over the weekend winter storms hit much of the United States, closing roads, causing power outages and raising all sorts of mischief that ice storms bring. But it also brought some much need moisture, recharging the water supply in the western U.S. and bringing water to extremely dry areas of the southern and central plains as well as the Midwest. And according to USDA meteorologist Eric Luebenhausen, there's another storm on the way bringing rain, sleet, freezing rain and snow.

"This is expected to arrive Tuesday and continuing into the overnight hours Tuesday night before tapering off Wednesday morning," Luebenhausen says. "Producers across the central and southern plains, which are dealing with moisture shortages, look like they are going to get not just the weekend rainfall and snow, but another round of beneficial moisture."
