Senator Places Hold on Environmental Appointments

Confirmation of Jackson and Sutley will be delayed slightly.

According to Senate aides on Wednesday an anonymous Republican senator has placed holds on Lisa Jackson, President Obama's nominee to head the Environmental Protection Agency, and Nancy Sutley, his choice to lead the White House Council on Environmental Quality. The holds will briefly delay but not disrupt Senate confirmation of the nominees. A Republican staffer said one member wants more time to vet Jackson.
