Soybeans Bounce Back at Midday

Soybean prices bounced back from Friday's selloff, but corn continues to fall on disappointing news from EPA. (Audio)

Another outstanding week for soybean export inspections helps the market bounce back from the big selloff to end last week. EPA announced their Renewable Fuels Standard proposal for 2014 the will kick off a big round of discussion, hand wringing and litigation for the next year. Severe weather moved across the Midwest last night leaving a path of destruction that is devastating for those areas that were in its path.

Soybean prices bounced back from Friday's selloff, but corn continues to fall on disappointing news from EPA.

Market Analyst Paul Burgener joined the Farm Futures team in November 2012 and brings a solid ag economics background. A former University of Nebraska Extension Ag Economist with training from the University of Wyoming, Burgener brings extensive experience to his new role. Most recently, he was involved in agricultural finance, and will offer that perspective through his comments and writing.
