Tillage Tool Preps Soil for Seeding

Yetter launches a Strip Freshener designed for fall strip-till operations to ensure strips are ready for early spring planting

Strip-till has become an effective way for many farmers to manage residues and maintain higher yields, but Yetter is offering an enhancement. The new Strip Freshener is an effective tillage pass option to warm soil and dry fall or spring-made strips. According to the company, a wet fall or long winter may leave strips in less-than-ideal shape.

The Strip Freshener, which works at speeds up to 10 mph, can prepare strips before planting. Running over existing strips the tool mixes the upper soil profile down two to three inches allowing the planting zone to warm and dry more quickly. That faster warm up can mean getting into the field sooner at planting time, when speed counts.

The unit features a parallel linkage design so it follows field contours, and it has an option for applying starter fertilizer too. The 2984 Strip Freshener has a universal mounting bracket to fit a variety of toolbar sizes, as well as an optional front bracket that allows users to connect existing residue managers or coulter setups to the unit.
