Wheat Markets Start Week Lower

Wheat and corn markets move lower as the market sets up for Friday's USDA reports. (Audio)

Nice weather over the weekend has farmers back in the field ahead of another round of showers Tuesday and Wednesday before a week of good harvest weather. Traders are preparing for big production numbers coming from this week's USDA reports as corn and soybean numbers are expected to get larger. Disappointing wheat export shipment numbers continue to point to slowing demand as the market has been expecting.

Market Analyst Paul Burgener joined the Farm Futures team in November 2012 and brings a solid ag economics background. A former University of Nebraska Extension Ag Economist with training from the University of Wyoming, Burgener brings extensive experience to his new role.
