Wheat Rally Picks Up Steam

Strong export sales and late corn harvest are continuing to support wheat prices. (Audio)

Wheat prices are up double digits this morning with Taiwan making a purchase yesterday and corn slow to fill feedlot needs in the Plains. Another 5.144 million bushels of soybeans were sold to unknown destinations this morning, adding to an already strong book with tight supplies coming down the line. Corn prices have picked up export business this week with both Mexico and Columbia making purchases.

Market Analyst Paul Burgener joined the Farm Futures team in November 2012 and brings a solid ag economics background. A former University of Nebraska Extension Ag Economist with training from the University of Wyoming, Burgener brings extensive experience to his new role.
