Whole-farm management program expands

AgriEdge Excelsior, pioneered by Syngenta, expands nationwide for 2015.

The idea of pulling data into one place to make decisions about your operation is gaining strength as more companies and industry startups tackle the issue. Syngenta started the process a few years ago for Western and Southern farmers with the creation of the AgriEdge Excelsior program. For 2015, the program expands nationwide.

In a media release about the expansion, Steve Gomme, national AgriEdge manager for Syngenta notes: "As modern agriculture evolves, new challenges arise for growers to navigate. From the questions of 'big data' technology to changing demands of the value chain, growers need flexible roots and value-added services to succeed in this new era."

AgriEdge Excelsior from Syngenta offers a whole-farm management system for farmers working to make sense of 'big data.'

The program was designed with a grower focus and targets the whole farm, not just one crop. A combination of total-farm management with record-keeping software and personalized, on-farm support allows growers to maximize profit potential and improve collaborative relationships with suppliers, the value chain and Syngenta.

Darren Fehr, Syngenta AgriEdge Excelsior manager for the recently expanded territory notes: "The AgriEdge Excelsior team stands ready to expand to Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota. After upon our success with [the program] for over 10 years, we are happy to provide the program to growers nationwide and continue meeting the needs of growers in a rapidly changing environment.
