Progressive Agriculture Foundation seeks support for innovative program from Toyota.

There's a growing trend in the companies-helping-charity business that offers charities unique support. The idea is that charities garner support through Web voting to "win" some form of help. Pepsi has done it and now Toyota is with its 100 Cars or Good program. The car company is awarding vehicles to 100 nonprofit organizations this fall based on votes from the public over Facebook.

The Progressive Agriculture Foundation is one of 250 finalists for the 100-cars giveaway and they're asking for our help. (Full disclosure Farm Progress is a PAF support). The PAF voting day is Wednesday, October 23.

VOTING HELPS CHARITY: Toyota's 100 Cars for Good Program (this is a screen grab from the site) could help an Ag nonprofit - Progressive Ag Foundation. Vote 10/23/13

In its press release, PAF notes that since 1995 the organization has "touched the lives of more than 1.1 million children and adults by delivering farm and ranch safety training through the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program.

Says Randy Berhnhardt, PAF chief administrative officer: "Our job is to keep kids safe and protect the next generation in agriculture. The new Toyota would help us decrease vehicle rental expenses and increase the number of children we reach through safety training." He notes that for every $13 the organization raises, or saves, allows another child to attend a Safety Day.

So save the date - October 23, 2013 - and stop by and vote.
