Grains are steady as the markets wait patiently for Thursday's catch-up export sales reports. (audio)

Weather is moving into the Midwest as harvest moves near 60% complete for corn and above 75% complete for soybeans. Basis is staying strong as cash bids have to remain competitive to pull crops away from farmers. Consumer confidence has fallen to a six month low as the Fed opens its October meeting with little news expected to come from the discussions.

Market Analyst Paul Burgener joined the Farm Futures team in November 2012 and brings a solid ag economics background. A former University of Nebraska Extension Ag Economist with training from the University of Wyoming, Burgener brings extensive experience to his new role.
