Soybeans Attempt To Edge Higher

Squaring positions ahead of an unpredictable USDA crop production and WASDE report day on Friday is keeping the markets quiet and mostly steady. Basis is strengthening as exporters are having to work hard to pry big soybean sales commitments out of farmers hands. Weather is improving in the western Corn Belt as the showers move into Indiana, Ohio and Michigan today. Look for about a week of improved harvest weather once this front moves out.

Market Analyst Paul Burgener joined the Farm Futures team in November 2012 and brings a solid ag economics background. A former University of Nebraska Extension Ag Economist with training from the University of Wyoming, Burgener brings extensive experience to his new role.
